Research and Discovery
You’ll hear the words “data-driven plan” from lots of places. Our team collects data too, yet does not put it through any arcane analysis process. We only use it to clearly understand the existing situation in any community served. Knowing the level of visitors currently arriving is important. Also, the actual capacity of the destination to serve more visitors is important to establish the parameters of a plan to increase them. Working to achieve greater visitors than the capacity assessment reveals is possible is an ineffective waste of funding.
Other data such as the quantity of tourism assets and resources in each category is important, the distribution of visitors during the year, the ability of restaurants and attractions to serve visitors, and the other services, such as gas stations, grocery stores, emergency health care locations, and banking, also point to the ability of a destination to increase their visitor population.
Our team works, sleeves rolled up, to gain all of this data from the original sources. We assemble the comprehensive inventory location by location, and include the email address of each location to enable clients to use that information in later stages of a project. We develop the capacity assessment from actual hotel room counts and restaurant seats. None of our information is extrapolated from third party sources which can often be inaccurate.
Approaching our research and discovery with this level of diligence ensures that our clients get the real answers and recommendations based on real facts. It takes longer to work this way, but in the end, it is well worth the time and effort.
